We are saddened to announce that after nearly 30 years, Disney has officially retired the Disney Dollar. As of Saturday, May 14, 2016, Disney will no longer print or sell this beloved "Currency with Character." According to the company, the decision was driven by the growing popularity of gift cards and digital currency. Does this mark the end of Disney Dollars? Yes and no. While Disney Dollars will no longer be sold or have new series released, they will continue to be honored and accepted as currency. Hopefully, they will come out of retirement someday. For now, keep collecting and appreciating the artistry of each bill. Disney Dollars, you will be missed. Retired
